De-clutter Your Space, Declutter Your Life!

De-cluttering your home, office and life has the potential to radically improve your productivity at work, home and in relationships. From kitchen counter tops to a messy desk and even a junk filled car – your “space” is a reflection of your life.

It’s hard to believe, but our environments reflect our inner space and give a glimpse into our souls. When our work environments or even our cars are messy and unorganized, it is often a clear reflection of our overall state of wellbeing.

When Sanya came to our organization looking to lose weight and demolish over $30,000 in credit card debt, I asked her if she would take me to her car. She looked at me perplexed and yet walked me to her vehicle. As she opened the car door, a can fell out of a messy, trash-filled car full of old papers, shoes, food bags, and wrappers. I had seen enough and kindly asked her to follow me inside.

Sure enough, as we unraveled her emotional, physical, and spiritual “issues” it was clear that her car was a mere symptom of a deeper need for transformation, self-respect and self-discipline. Sanya weighed 373 pounds and was desperately seeking change. Good news is that after only one year, Sanya lost over 85 pounds and demolished $30,000 in debt to go on to live a thriving life of balance and peace.

The key: She had a cluttered mind, cluttered soul, and cluttered life. Check out the discussions below to learn great tips to on how you can organize your life and transform your future!

This is a terrific group, and vital information for so many people. I have a professional organizing consulting company and would be happy to share my free monthly e-zine with anyone who wants to subscribe. Most months it addresses both the internal and external issues of clutter and disorganization, and as Chrissy said, they are often very closely related. You can subscribe at http://creativeconvenience.biz/

Good luck to everyone, and congratulate yourself for taking the first step toward a simpler, more rewarding life!!

I just read each discussion. And this is something that I have been dealing with for the last year. Several years ago I became an independent beauty consultant. But I also had another job. Between 2 kids, husband and job we just became more & more cluttered. I have been dealing with a lot of pain in my body and just sick alot in this last year. My mind has just felt like it was a mess. And I truly have felt that a lot of this chaos has been due to the clutter. I spend more time looking for something than I do using the item. I get very stressed just trying to get out the door some mornings. I was really excited when I seen that someone had started a group about decluttering your life. I don't know about anyone else out there but I need this group. Even if it is a small group right now. 3 weeks ago I did exactly what you said in part 3. I completely cleaned out my bedroom and only put back what I felt truly should be in there. For the first time in 20 years my small bedroom feels like an oasis. I have actually started getting up and making my bed of the mornings. It makes me feel so good just to walk in that room and it is no longer cluttered. 2 months ago I started with decluttering my living room. I really have to work at it to keep things out of there. Everyone is always leaving something in there that truly shouldn't be in there. But I find that I don't have to be embarrassed anymore if someone stops in unexpectedly. In my kitchen my small table tends to be a catch all. I am working on that constantly trying to keep it decluttered but I haven't mastered it yet. But one thing that is very important to me is to get my office decluttered. It has been so overwhelming to me that I just didn't know where to start. There have been days that I have just sat down and cried. So I liked the reminder that I don't have to do it all at once. Just work at it in 15 minute segments. I will get it done. And I will be able to make my business prosper. Which will help me to get rid of the debt I have and the stress. So thank you for starting this group. I appreciate it.
