Hi girls, I am trying to lose 50 lbs by my birthday in march I have lost 15 in the past month being on nurtrisystem but when I started working out it kinda stopped, that was 2 weeks a ago and I got sidetracked from my diet and exercise for almost a week now, I guess I got a lil upset it and ended up gaining a few pounds back and having Christmas parties to go to feels impossible to stay on track. I started working out again yesterday and got back on my diet and I wanted to know if anyone has done turbo jam wokouts? I love them, I just want to lose weight while doing them, my mom said I was probably building muscle..I hope so, we'll see!

For those of you who missed this "all y'all" email, it is from Carla who is determining to run her first marathon this year. I wanted to post it so all of you could read it, as well. ;)

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to share this with everyone to encourage you all to get involved again.

My goal in the new year is to run a marathon in March then another in May. Although, this had always been a dream of mine, I never thought I could achieve it. Until I began the run walks and started to feel better and better, I did not know I could do it. Gracie showed me that I underestimated myself so I kept with it. I stayed consistent with the running. Here is my goal: TO BE CONSISTENT WITH STRENGTH TRAINING. Gracie wrote a note about starting the new years resolution now, rather than after we feel 10 pounds heavier. ANYONE ELSE UP FOR THIS CHALLENGE.........
love, Carla

Hello Everyone,

With respect to strength training, remember there are so many different ways to train (i.e. lots of different types of props, styles of training,) which adds variety to your workouts! As a career personal trainer, the best advice I offer to my clients is to look at your goals first then we'll tailor your workouts toward those goals. For example, if you're planning on running a marathon, your strength training plan should include exercises that specifically focus on those running muscles. Gracie and I can help you with that of course and there are lots of good free websites with fantastic training support.

It's well to establish what your goals are first then develop the plan. Successful physical fitness is far more sustainable for a lifetime when training is broken down into smaller manageable and personalized goals!

Go forth Ladies and workout!!!

Hey Stacy! Nice info! What is the EMwomen Health and Fitness Plan? Where do I get info on that?

Hi Leann!

I am thrilled that you have decided to make a change in your life that can affect your entire future. Starting very soon, we will be launching our fitness challenge and training for EMcommunity. I would love to see you dedicate your energy to taking the challenge to set yourself up of a new year of success. In the meantime, I encourage you to reach out to Denise Gerrich, here in the community. She has lost 72.3 pounds in 107 days and she is living the EMwomen Health and Fitness Plan. She would be a great accountability partner for you. To get started, I encourage you to start walking five days a week. Walk fast enough that you get a good workout, but not so fast that you can't still speak while walking. You will learn in our upcoming challenge that the goal for fat loss is to exercise in your "Fat Burning Zone". Also, make a list of everything you eat for one week and send it to me so our team can see where your pitfalls are nutritionally. And finally, begin to see yourself like the woman you want to be instead of like the woman you have grown to disdain. Remember: "Whatsoever a man (or woman) thinks in his heart, so is he!" So think thin thoughts, think healthy thoughts, think yourself beautiful!

After I receive your nutritional log, I will give you more tips! ;)

Ok, I have been really nervous about joining this group, because I have been trying to find some help in losing weight and nobody has helped me at all. So if you can help me I would be so thankful for you.
