EMwomen
International, an organization of Hot Springs, Arkansas, has
launched a comprehensive leadership development program called
"Redefining Beautiful" for High School Girls in Garland County.
Last week, at assemblies held in Garland County High Schools, Staci
Wallace, founder of EMwomen and EMgirls, offered hundreds of girls
a chance to win college scholarships, prizes, recognition, and the
opportunity to attend a life-changing 6 week leadership development
program called "EMpact Leadership Summit" to be held this
summer.
This week, Wallace, along with EMwomen's Biggest Loser, Denise
Gerrich, who has lost 113 pounds in 8 months through EMwomen, had
girls on their feet at Cutter Morning Star during another assembly
held on Wednesday. "I have never had a mentor like her before",
stated one of the young ladies at Wednesday's assembly. "Staci and
her story made me believe that I can change and that my life has
the potential to change the world. I am excited to enter this
contest and hope my friends do too!"
"Cinderella, there is greatness in you. Cinderella, there is so
much you can do...." These are just a few of the words of Wallace's
song, "Cinderella, Dreams Do Come True" which she sang for the
girls that day. Obvious tears could be seen on the faces of girls
deeply longing for a chance to become more than they dreamed they
could be. EMwomen (Empowering Women) and EMgirls (Empowering Girls)
is openly inviting all girls of Garland County ages 16-19 to enter
the scholarship program and essay contest. Of the entries received,
12 winners will be selected to attend the EMpact Leadership Summit,
where girls will learn leadership development principals such as
goal setting, team building, emotional management, public speaking,
social graces, poise & etiquette, community involvement, ropes
course, junior golf clinic, health screenings, fitness training,
healthy cooking classes, self-esteem, as well as a “Big Give”
philanthropy contest.
