Learn From My Mistake

I went to Florida for a missions trip. Our group became friends with this guy there. I took one look at him and thought. "i don't want him to be around me." so everytime I saw him I went the opposite way because he scared me.
We went to service that night and the sermon was about One More. The reading came from Luke 15.
Everyone in heaven rejoices when one comes to know Him. not just one person in Heaven. but Everyone. That we should preach the gospel to everyone. and not just the people we want to be saved or the ones that look cleaner than others. About how we should not judge, but minister to all people about God, no matter what they look like.
I thought that was a very good message and that i should tell everyone about God, back home in Michigan.
This guy kept coming over and hanging out with our group. i still didn't want anything to do with him. Then the night before we left, i heard a little about his life. I felt like crap after i heard what he had went through.
That is when i realized that i had judged him. i should have ministered to him. but all i did was look at the outside appearance and ran away.
i should have told him that God still cared and i should have ministered to him.
Thank God that my group did that, or else he would have never known that someone out there loves him veery much. and that someone is God.
We. Christians. need to not judge, but, instead minister to everyone. I hope by hearing this story you do not do what i did, but rather learn by my mistake.
