Happy 4th of July to all of my EMsisters! What a wonderful day to celebrate freedom, not only in our nation, but for many, today is a great day to step into freedom from chains that bind our hearts, minds, bodies, and spirits.
I was so thrilled to receive a precious letter from a young lady who’s life has been dramatically changed since joining EMwomen. For years, she had spent her life trapped in bondage to depression and abusive relationships, slowly losing her joy, peace, and identity. This…

Most business moms run out of time and they always wish they could get more time in a day which is impossible. However, a busy mother can learn some ways of creating time for the things that need to be done. Briefly, the steps that one can take include:
1. Set the priorities. It is advisable that at the start of the day, begin by listing all that need to be done in the order of priorities. You need strategize what to do the following day before going to bed; orally or written though the later is…

Well today is my last day working as an Intern at the office at EMwomen. I have had such an amazing time here and I have met a lot of incredible people.
I really wanted to write about something amazing that happened to me the other day....
For the past few weeks I have been trying to figure out where in the world I was going to work after my internship. A few of my friends had been having a hard time finding jobs with the way the economy is. I had decided to move back home until December which…

Be all you can be, but it's not always in the Army. I often see myself as somewhat contented with my life the way things are, but of course it's hard to think of anything else when where are real issues to be discussed.
Still I aspire for something deeper and more meaningful.
So we're all pelted with problems. Honestly it shouldn't even bother or even hinder us to becoming all we ought to be. Aspirations as kids should continue to live within us, even though it would be short-lived or as long…

Day 8
June 23
Tuesday was the final day of the EMpact Leadership Summit. The girls started the morning off with breakfast. After breakfast, they headed outside for some archery lessons. 4H’s staff taught everyone the parts of a bow, how to load arrows, proper stance, and how to shoot the arrows. After a few practice rounds, everyone was divided into three groups for some friendly archery competition. When the game was over the stakes were raised. Balloons and stars were then placed on the targe…

Day 7
June 22
Monday was the moment of truth for many of the girls at the summit. After a great breakfast at the 4H Resort, the girls started off on what was called the low ropes course. The low ropes course involved skills such as teamwork, communication, and collaboration. Some of the games that were involved but not limited to were: games of trust where each girl had to trust and have confidence in each of the other girls. One of the games was a rope game in which everyone leaned back holdin…

Day 6
June 21st
Today is Father’s Day. We hope and pray that everyone enjoyed their time with their families today. Today was mostly a day of rest and a family day. We met up with the girls at 6:00 to head to 4H. After we arrived at the camp and everyone got settled in their rooms Pam Wiles was able to speak to the girls about how to fill out a work application and create a resume. We didn’t have a full schedule today, but we thoroughly enjoyed being with these wonderful ladies.
We would like…

Saturday, June 20
Today started off as a very early morning to most of the girls. The girls had a night full of fun and excitement at Embassy Suites. Today was our EMfitness day. We all walked a 5K. To some of the girls this seemed to be an impossible challenge. When we told them what we were about to do, they thought to themselves there is absolutely no way I am going to be able to do that. Each girl walked and jogged at their own pace to stay in their "EMzone". But everyone finished their rac…

It might take a little coffee or probably a few rounds of beer or any other booze you could get your hands on when it comes to relaxing after a hard day's work. Well, yeah I'm guilty about that one as well, unless I'm caught dead wearing a lampshade over my head after a few rounds of vodka… half-naked! Okay, bad example and I apologize to everyone reading this after getting nightmares about me in that state of drunken stupor.
Just don't ask how it happened, please.
But what's really interestin…

Hello! My name is Heather Rogers, and I am a Co-Captain for the Blue Team. Wow -- what an amazing day we had! Today marks the 2nd day of the EMpact Leadership Summit, and we started our day with a bang! The girls showed up 30 minutes early just to decorate our van for the 1st "outing".
We headed off, first thing this morning, to the Boys and Girls Club to do A.R.K. which stands for Acts of Random Kindness. The Boys and Girls Club needed some of their bleachers painted, so our girls were there t…

I experienced a phenomenal series of sessions with Peter Daniels -
self made millionaire by way of our Church event. His
view on setting goals was an eye opener.
Many of us want so much out of life, we have these astronomical
figures in our head of how much money we would like
to have, businesses and places we'd like to go.
Do we really know what we want?
Are we really taking the steps to get there?
One of the questions he asked of ones who said they wanted
trillions $*$* - from a 1 - 10 wher…

A few years ago a group of salesmen went to a regional sales convention in Chicago. They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night's dinner. In their rush, with tickets and briefcases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of apples. Apples flew everywhere. Without stopping or even looking back, they managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly missed boarding.
ALL BUT ONE !!! He paused, took a…

yesterday was such an exciting Sunday. Gods spirit was all over the church and the message was awesome. i left feeling refreshed and excited. Last night was just a continuation of the morning service.
I have a prayer shawl ministry that God laid on my heart in March at the womens retreat that I attended and I am also feeling led to work with abused women and let them know that they can get away and make a life. I did. I am just dont know how to get started. Any advice would be appreciated but re…

I heard someone ask the question, "Are you spending more time balancing your checkbook, than you are balancing your life?" It made me think. During these tough economic times we now live, people are running scared. They are pre-occupied with job security, having enough money to pay the mortgage, medical and credit card bills...and rightfully so.
With all the bad news coming from the media and our government, it is enough to send us all into a frightened panic. That is if you have chosen to part…

Hello to all my Emwomen sisters. Reporting in and keeping you informed of the progress I am making. Last week was 5 weeks into MY "Embrace Change" Emwomen program, and
I have shed 25 POUNDS!!!!!!! I am amazed at the progress and how good I am feeling. I not only feel good physically, but mentally as well.
I am finding out so much about myself along this journey. Some things I am working on changing because they aren't the best for me. Others, are good things about me I am learning…
